We all carry a load of man-made chemicals, our very own personal toxic load. It is a burden that our bodies must bear. This burden grows heavier and heavier as we age, AND with each passing generation (future mothers take note). In the last 100 years over 350,000 manmade chemicals have been introduced into our environment, polluting our land, water and sky. Nothing, not one place on this beautitful planet has been untouched. And we have no idea what these chemicals are doing to us in synergy together. Please read The One Hundred Year Lie for details.
Limiting the intake of man-made chemicals in the food we eat might seem a monumental task and is, perhaps, futile. But I still feel better about my health and well-being when I buy 100% organic food and food grown or raised “beyond” the organic standard, certified or not. My hope is that by doing this I am helping provide my body with the nutrients and enzymes it needs to fight back! Since there are potentially dangerous chemicals lurking in most commercially processed foods, I am even more inspired to avoid them.
As for GMOs, they have no place in MY food supply and I will go to great lengths to discover where they lurk …
(this is by no means an exhaustive list of food additives)
